13th Uhlan Regt, dismounted and forming a firing line

This is a really nice photo showing the 13th Uhlan Regiment in action during maneuvers. The bulk of the unit has moved up with their Kar88's and formed a firing line behind a small rise. Some of the Uhlans have stayed back to hold the horses a few meters to the rear. To the left of the line an officer stands with his saber drawn watching the men. Not far to his rear is a trumpeter watching to see if he is needed. Several of the men appear to be in the act of loading their carbines. Behind the front line NCOs and/or officers are standing or kneeling. There is enough resolution in the photo that you can make out the W II emblem on an NCO's cartridge case.

Thank you gentlemen for the kind words. I had to cut the resolution down quite a bit to get the file size under 1MB. If anyone wants a full res scan PM with your email. File is about 7MB

This illustrates very well that for all units Dunkelblau uniforms were field uniforms. White bandoliers, Fangschnur, epaulettes etc. were all field worn.

The only thing that would make them ready for parade, would be to add the button-on plastron to the Ulanka chest, to the Tschapka mount the Rabbate and that hair thing. Plus a clean Ulanka. Ready for another pointless parade.

Those cords and tassels would have driven me crazy 😜 ! I will take a couple of tschapkas though.
