This is a really nice photo showing the 13th Uhlan Regiment in action during maneuvers. The bulk of the unit has moved up with their Kar88's and formed a firing line behind a small rise. Some of the Uhlans have stayed back to hold the horses a few meters to the rear. To the left of the line an officer stands with his saber drawn watching the men. Not far to his rear is a trumpeter watching to see if he is needed. Several of the men appear to be in the act of loading their carbines. Behind the front line NCOs and/or officers are standing or kneeling. There is enough resolution in the photo that you can make out the W II emblem on an NCO's cartridge case.
