15cm shell for a Krupp M16 kanone

Dear all,

Below are some pics of my most recent aquisition: a 15cm shell for a Krupp M16 kanone.

Its height is 726mm
The diameter is 152mm
The base diameter is 175mm

A close-up of the bottom of the shell reveals that it was made in October 1918 by Patronenfabrik from Karlsruhe. SP255 is the manufacturers control / inspection mark and 48 is the lotnumber of the batch to which this shell belongs.

The number of dots indicate that this shell was re-used six times.

My little collection of shells... BTW I am also interested in a 420mm shell!

Very nice. A small language suggestion: the "shell" is the what comes out of the front of the cannon barrel. A shell is the projectile. The "cartridge casing" is what holds the charge. You have cartridge casings.

You have a nice selection of cartridge casings Edwin. Keep going :bravo:

Its almost impossible to find a good place in our house to make nice photo's because the toys of my kids turn up miraculously at every spot I have in mind for this purpose :D

Edwin....been there and done that with 4 kinder, so I know the problem. Hard to imagine sometimes, how I am still able to walk after consistently treading on Lego in my sock feet all those years!! Never seen such a large collection of trench art and hate belts, very cool....it's always bigger in TX! :D
