17th Dragoon Regiment Group photo 1912

Nice Steve! This is one of my favorite regiments. I've got money in the bank waiting for a nice DR17 officer's helmet to come up for sale. Someday

Yoou have a lot of nice photos .
How do display or store them ?
I have photos also
most of them are in hanging file folders
and I don't get to see them that often
Steve

Thanks Steve. Unfortunately, most of them are sitting in a drawer and are not displayed. I buy some of these with an eye for incorporating them into a display. I got this one to go into a display for a Mecklenberg-Schwerin officer's sword I have.

Yes, sadly mine are all stored in multiple old cardboard shoe boxes and small plastic storage totes, lol. Not the best way to treat them of course.

Chip once told me that he saw someone's very large collection of photos whom I also know, someone who is not a member here, and they had them all organized nicely by category in archival photo pages, in multiple 3-ring photo binders, all on shelves for easy access.

That's the ultimate goal for me to be likewise organized with all my piles of photos, lol. As they are stored currently, it's a quite very useless system, since I don't remember where specific ones are located easily to find, as one might imagine. I definitely need to use some spare time in order to get them organized, and taken care of better and not be exposed to the acid of cardboard shoe boxes.

Mine are in a drawer but each one (at least the small ones) is in its own plastic sleeve to protect them. Once they are scanned in, you can see so much more detail looking at them on a computer screen

Yes, I should do that too Bob, thanks for reminding me, I appreciate it!

If anyone is interested PM please, I have 3 good condition albums for sale from 1915-1917 that hold 200 photographs or postcards. I use original albums to store my photographs and postcards. There are recorded in a database by album number and page number. I just having them in original albums and lot have survived well

What I meant to post was that for anyone from this site who wants them they are free all they have to pay is the postage to where they are.

Since I joined this site people have been so kind, helpful and taught me so much about pickelhaubes and uniforms I would like to give something back.
I really like the idea that with all the amazing collections people have these albums would allow their photographs to move from boxes to where they belong
