17th HR Illustrated History of the Regiment in the Franco-Prussian war

I recently got this very cool book. Printed in 1902 and named to a "Gefreiter Ruef"". Lots of good illustrations of the Regiment during the war. Very accurate. The Dreyse needle carbines are clearly recognizable. Enjoy!

I wonder if the soldiers in spike helmets are from 92R.

There appears to be some kind of star affixed to the front of their wappens which would be consistent with 92 IR I and II Batallions. The piping on the cuffs is a lighter color which could very well be the blue that the 92nd used.

Plus you can make out the IR92 cypher on their white shoulder straps. This is the Castle Guard duty.
