1873 verließ der letzte Preuße französischen Boden

Hello everyone,
I apologize in advance because I don't speak a single word of German.
I usually collect photos of officers and soldiers of the Second French Empire, but upon seeing this portrait I was seduced as much by the quality of the photo, as by the equipment, and the look of this soldier. Especially since on the back there was the words "the last Prussian who left French soil 1873" But my knowledge on the subject is low, so could you tell me more about the equipment and the helmet?

Bonjour,

et bienvenue.
Mais auriez vous l'obligence de traduire vos méssages en Anglais, c'est plus commode pour la majorité des menbres qui sont Anglophones.
Merci pour votre éffort et votre participation.

German soldier Infantery wearing Prussian tip helmet model 1867/71 or 1871,with perlring troop, flat scale chinstrap secured with split-head screw.
However, the negative was reversed. The Landkokarde and frontal eagle scepter should be on the right side of the helmet. The white buff is for parade purposes.

Reversed the photo.

I only downloaded it temporarily to do the reverse and then immediately deleted it from my iPad. Did not want to save it without permission but now we can see how it should have looked.

Thank you Pierre B. I can confirm: Prussian infantry helmet, model 1871 or 1867/71 (addition of the rear spine). In 1887, the Perlring disappeared and the chinstrap with ecailles was replaced by hooks.
