Offered for sale is a 1915 Jaeger zu Pferd helmet by C.E. Junker.
Any "white" or light color areas on the blued helmet body are simply the result of the camera flash reflecting on the blued steel helmet body. There are No patches of bluing loss on this helmet.
8th Regiment issue marked.
The helmet body is not dented. The bluing is intact and has some scattered surface oxidation which could be removed with "evaporust" product, or another safe means which I know about. I have simply not had the time to work on this project helmet, and have decided to sell it to anyone who might have the time to work on it to bring it back to its former glory.
Size 54.5 marked on underside of back visor trim, and "8. J. P." marked as well.
"C.E. Junker, Berlin" marked inside the top of helmet body.
Leather liner is missing, with only the support band and some of the felt remaining.
One side of the set of chinscales remains, the side with the "male end" connector device.
The wire loops on the reverse of the JzP wappen have been replaced at some time in the past, as seen in photo.
Some of the leather backing is missing from the single side chinscales, and the leather chinstrap has broken off, as seen in photo.
This helmet should clean up nicely with some effort, and the removal of the scattered light surface rust will make this helmet into a great display piece.
Price: $950.00 or "Best Offer" + Postage.
Payment via PayPal is o.k. I prefer "friends and family".
USA Postage: $20.00 via Priority Mail w/Tracking.
Canada Postage: $45.00 via 1st Class International Mail Parcel with Tracking. You should not have to worry about paying any import Customs tax fee on entry of this helmet into Canada.
Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands, and UK postage: $60.00 via 1st Class International Mail Parcel with Tracking.
New Zealand, Australia, or Singapore Postage: $65.00 via 1st Class International Mail Parcel with Tracking.
Thanks,
Alan
