What was worn in parade 1915-1918 for Officers during wartime? I know what was worn in the field or in peace time but I want to get a good pair of a shoulder boards for a grouping for my Hessen Offizier Feldartillerie-Regiment Nr 25 helmet but what is exactly correct or in everyones opinion on the forum what is more desirable?

this is my parade helmet

Epaulettes faded away with the Dunkelblau Waffenrock. But Segio's are just so nice.... The correct wartime insignia would be the boards. Personally, if I was fortunate enough to have your stunning FAR Kugelhelm I would buy both.

Thanks Tony for the input! Its that damn star that was added in 1915 to existing helmets that makes the decision tough. I like the old style epaulettes because of the great grandeur of there appearance but as you are saying they weren't used after the introduction of the Dunkelblau Waffenrock.

This all started after looking through old Kube auctions and I found this below grouping that looks fantastic!
