Check it out...a brass-trimmed replica from India with a gray paint job.

The nice thing about these is they are easy to spot, and any one who buys one thinking it is real has violated the first rule of collecting. Read first, than buy.

I have to admit. Other than the spike. It looks like it could be a real one.
Is the shell at least real ??

Cliff :???:

I doubt it. It looks like it's made for a dwarf for a start and....the entire thing is so crudely made. The frontplate's a piece of junk, the spike-brads are too thin, ditto the rear spine attachment, liner looks wrong, same for the inner base plate - too thin, etc,etc.......I just laugh every time I look at this thing. that label inside with the 'burnt' corner is the final insult. what the hell were they thinking?

Here's another one, and I defy you not to laugh out loud at the rear view photo.

This looks like the kind of dreck that a certain 'Military Bargains UK' used to peddle sometime back.

Same awful label inside with the burn at lower left.

Sorry, couldn't resist laughing out loud at the rear vieuw and the rest... Do they really think we're stupid? :p

As a total newbie/rank amateur it is somewhat of a relief that even *I* laughed at the rear view of that helmet. Hey, maybe I'm learning...

Found in the Dachboden while the house was starring as The Towering Inferno.

What a mess! Wouldn't it have been a hoot being the fly on the wall when the seller threw that thing on the charcoal grill? One non-kosher Pickel, well done please.

I've also heard of a scalawag dealing in bogus Third Reich Stahlhelme, who ages reproduction liners by urinating on them and leaving them in the sun.

Ugh! :puke:

Chas.
