Must have been used in that lost German colony of East-West Africa:

I see a post-WWII Wolseley, probably Royal Marines helmet with a German plate that I've never seen on a tropical helmet.
 
It'll be interesting to see the seller's response to the question of how the British were contracted to supply helmets in 1957 to an empire that lost its colonies---and ceased to exist---at the end of WWI. :-"
 
The seller said "thank you for the information" when I contacted him/her. I was told it is the estate of the seller's father and he spent $1million buying "junk" on eBay that is all going to be sold.

Imagine that... you think you're set for a nice fat inheritence and you find... "Oh no! Mom and dad bought this crap instead." So instead of money you get to clean out a house.
 
Well, if you need a wappen for your Leibe Guard Hussaren cartouche and a somewhat rather heavy gardening helmet then this might just be right up your alley... \:D/

That seems to be a rather nice post-WWII Beligan helmet that has been somewhat ruined by the addition of an artillery badge!
