Here is 2 L H R 2 pre 1894
before the side lugs
these chin scales are held in place by a screw which goes into a receiver inside the helmet body .
as Francis says the inside frame is wicker
This is the 1st pre 1894 Hussar that I have ever had in hand
from what I can see all of the cavalry helmets at this time had
their chin scales attached by the screw
photos of the pre 1894 Hussar were very hard for me to find
The helmet has the early bush that falls to the side
not the later stand up type
all helmets from the same collector
another fangschnur that is not correct
