Today was a beautiful day in the neighbourhood, a high of 25 C and a lovely light breeze blowing. It was an excellent day to work on hauben out side and take advantage of the breeze to aid in the drying process! Some pics:

Left to right, my Prussian Infantry Officer from SOS 2014, James' Garde Officer and Mark's Baden Feld Artillery Officer.

Not too much left to do on James' Garde finish wise.

The shell of my SOS helme is done, not too much left to do on the front visor.

Marks' Baden helme has one spot on the shell that needs fixing and a bit of smoothing out on the visor. That is why the chin scales are up. This is a beautiful pristine helmet.
So....easily $4K US on the Barbie. Yes it is shaded and the hats were only left out for a couple of hours. Natural light conditions are the best for sanding and refinishing, all the high and low spots are easily seen.
PS...Look at the chin scale boss on this helmet, have you ever seen one that protrudes so much ?? The Baden officer kokarde and the chin scales themselves, are mint and of exceptional quality.
