441 Euro for an Überzug - what's the point?

It might be the odd exception but I am afraid that this is reality

Kind regards,

Edwin

This seems to be getting to be the new standard, especially for issue covers with numbers and matching ink markings. Most of these are being bought by Europeans with Euro, so US collectors are pretty much at a serious disadvantage. If you look at it from a Dollar standpoint, it does seem like a new high water mark.

Everything in Europe tends to be overpriced because of the conversion rate of the € or the £ to the $. Dealers there tend to think 1€ = 1$ and price their militaria accordingly  .

The best deals (price & quality) I've seen so far are in the US due to (1) the prices being in US$ and (2) the abundance of vet bring backs or mint condition War Bond helmets...

Now let's hope the Loonie (CA$) will stay close to parity or higher for a bit longer (I'm still hunting for a Kurassier M15!).

I liked it better with the Loonie was play money, and the Mark was 3.something to the buck.
Best
