That discussion must be so far out of the paint that I just cannot imagine it. Where do people come up with this stuff? The books are out there – maybe they should read them.

Yes, exactly why I asked this question. It just didn't seem right to me, but don't want to question somebody's perceptions before asking the experts.

You're most likely correct. I just tossed this into a translator since my German sucks. I was wondering what that meant, being 'hung up'.

Years ago (before translator apps) I asked my Father -in - Law ( born and raised in Germany) to translate something for me. The one part of it was the description of a uniform. He came back with the guy had "broken glass on his collar and a line of bricks on the front."
