I forget the year, but the Max Show was in Indy.
So, Brian Sanders who lives in Ind. had an open house.
I G collectors who were at the show were invited.
Here is a photo of the collectors at Brian's house.
Sorry for the poor quality reproduction.
Rany & Remy of the Age of Kings are front row center.
Helmut Weitze as there with one of his crew.
The three Sanders brothers are there.

Nice photo from 2007, if I remember correctly with the MAX Show being in Indy that one time only. I don't see Art S. in the group.

Thanks Steve, for posting it here.

Best Wishes,

Alan

My first and only Blue Max show must have been in 1988; in Baltimore... no pictures for the momment....

I was living in Baltimore during the time it was there that was a fun show I remember going to Hooters at harbor place after the show. Hey, they had good food, that's the story and I'm sticking to it ;)

You are correct. For some reason Art S. is not in the photo
and he was not at the open house . I am not sure why ?

Is that Charles on your left, Steve ?
Yes, that is Charles.
We had a great time that year. Charles and his wife flew to Memphis
and stayed with us for a couple of nights. We went out to dinner and
had so much great seafood that we could not eat it all.
We got "doggie bags " and put the leftovers on ice.
The next night we were at a Red Roof Inn in Indy
Charles had a room with a microwave, we heated the left overs
and had a couple of bottles of Champagne .
There is an old song recorded on the Sun Studio label in Memphis
"Drinking Wine Spoo die Odio "
I introduced that to Charles

Were you nibbling on the food ?
What timing about Baltimore.
Mike Kelso just sent me a link to the
National WWI Museum and Liberty Memorial in K C
They told this story ;
I went to the website

National WWI Museum and Liberty Memorial.

Very interesting
The story of the huge painting was of special interest to me
It came from France to Baltimore
As I understand it
It was purchased by 3 American businessmen in 1927
for $ 500,000
It was in storage until 1952
when it as bought at auction by restaurant owner
William Haussner
He then donated it to the National WWI Museum and Liberty Memorial.

Years ago, when I would go to the Baltimore Gun show
a group of us would go to Haussner's restaurant for lunch
It was quite the place
original oil painting on every spaces of wall that the place had to order
It was noted that Mr. Haussner was an art collector
