Coming to the end of another year, I purchased quite a few new covers this year that I am very excited about. Most of the front 2 rows are new this year.

The newest is the 39 cover with seperate spike cover showing up today.

Sorry for the crappy photo's, but tons a fresh snow and cold temps are keeping me inside.

There are just so many variations... really an underresearched area of collecting. I am not so sure that our references are all correct on this. there are just so many variations.

James, you suck.

It occured to me that some may not understand the meaning of the above statement, Paul would. What I actually wanted to say is that compaired to James, I suck.

Wish I did, however, I passed on just as many as I purchased this year!

That means that he owns half of all the known examples

In the words of my students..."a very sick collection" indeed. Perhaps the name of that manufacturer should be added to our list? None of mine are stamped like that but maybe we should establish a sub list for the uberzug? Well done James! Brian

Out of the blue I got four e-mails this morning on your white colored uberzug! In my opinion, yours is odd and could well be a winter cover. while white was originally designed for maneuvers, it became the universal symbol for referees as is shown in this AKO. There are lots and lots of pictures of referees with white helmet covers.

Similar to yours however, mine also has no venting system.

And here is a reversible Bavarian with hooks on both sides!

Did you guys get this uberzug picture? I clearly did not bid enough.

Great collection, congratulations! You´d wonder just how complex a topic such as the Überzug can be until you take a glimpse at the many variations.

Concerning an Überzug that I recently bought together with a helmet: is it common to find paper sewn into the part that fits over the spike? It seems rather useless as protection for the brass and prone to disintegrating if the piece is repeatedly washed.
