I'm not so sure of that :-k ... Do you realise this pickelhaube is from the ultra rare Pfannenkuchen Battalion? Parts of these are extremely rare and it will take years to find them #-o ...

Despite the obvious rarity of the piece as Karel has noted, I think I will pass on this one. :)

If somebody would give me a helmet in that condition, I'd try it. Otherwise, buying something like that instead of a book isn't something I'd do, unless I really needed the parts.

I fixed one years ago like this in the "deflated football" condition that we see here but it had no holes in the shell and the front visor was not torn along the stitch line. It also had all of its finish still on the shell.
 
It's quite obvious that this particular helmet belonged to Tom Brady of the Patriots...
