Hello everybody,I recently found this one at a dutch e-bay site,and bought it.. Have a nice evening! :D
 
I think it is a high ranking NCO do to the thick visor trim but I do not think the stars are correct .

They should be smaller or not there at all . ( rounded studs ).

It has the old style liner that was used both for OR and Off . It does have an Off red rear visor

Unless I am way off .
 
I've got a few questions about this piece. The star pins for the spike and the NCO cockades, I'm not sure about the way the rear spine is attached. Maybe one of the more knowledgeable members will comment.

I'm afraid that this piece appears to me to be an old shell that has been refurbished with new replacement parts. For example, look at the shape of the spike, the condition of the spike in comparison to other parts, the way that rear spine is not correctly attached and that the star studs are modern, clearly oversized and secured on the inside by some sort of modern machined round disc. Just my opinion but this does appear to be a parts rebuild.

Yes, I totally agree with Tony's analysis. Both kokarden repainted. I am also wondering, if some sort of modern repair has been done to the top of the helmet shell. Notice in the interior picture of the shell.... what is that white leather edge around the spike support disc and also in the middle of the disc?? Perhaps thin modern piece of leather has been glued on to add further support to the top of the helmet? Sorry Coert for picking this apart....we all learn from our mistakes here.
 
It's okay,because I'm here to learn.Let me tell you,I'm far from perfect, :D I know the stars are wrong,but didn'nt see the differences mentioned by Tony.The kokarden are 2-piece,with the NCO-ring attached with 3 little brads.Greetings,and a Merry X-mas! :D
 
My original question about the cockades - had to do with their being NCO with the star studs on the spike. However, looking closer it appears the silver ring is attached over a white painted ring, never seen that before. Is there a cardboard back on the cockades?

I like the Wappen, it appears to be a nice clean one with the details being very sharp.
