Here's a cover that spooks me at $300 buy it now: https://www.ebay.com/itm/WW1-Imperial-German-Army-Pickelhaube-Cover-Unit-Marked-116th-Infantry-Regiment/174161092957?hash=item288ccf615d:g:k6gAAOSwryheI61U

Green Number "R 116" on a tan cloth cover without the multi-color thread weave in the fabric.

The soldier's label inside looks brand new, unused.

The metal clips/hooks for attaching to helmet have rust. Real, or aged?

$300 is a Steal price. Or $300 is a bad "get burned" price. Sale is "No Returns."

Seller is down near Jefferson Schrader of AGM, at Cape Girardeau, MO. (It is Not Jefferson selling this, just someone from far S.E. MO.)

Best Regards,

Alan

I wouldn't buy that one, but apparently it has sold for $300..
Didn't like the number, or the nametag in it.

Yes, I figured it would sell quickly. Someone got burned for $300, or maybe they accepted a lower offer on it.

Thanks guys!

Alan

A super bad BURN!!!

Only bavarian and sometimes saxon army used the name "Infanterist" , never Preußen or Hessen!
Just have a look in the Verlust Liste of the JR116 and anyone can see that they were called "Musketier".

All is bad on this piece! The stuff, the numbers and the name tag :-& And I know who is the person who bought it....A french guy who is systematic buying on ebay USA, Germany and France to sell the items later for some more money...
