I have found by internet a Tschapka in my nativ Lorraine
The Tschapka :

after received it, I began to search the stamps...
the first :

U9
1883
1884
this affectation is in accord with the name tag.
the seconde stamp :

I E
I
First squadron, first garniture. The name tage indicate the 2nd sqadron, not very disturbing, the Tschapka could have live in the regiment.
The third stamps will come with the conclusion...
The restauration :
for the restauration I use only cold water, hatter's form and my press Tschapka.
And I need a plate : with luck, it's the most common, not really, almost common that the "silver" one... The brass and the silver was used by the same number of regiments but the brass plate is often confused with the Tschako plate.
A Tschaka plate is always consolidated compared to a plate for tschako. Because to the use of the brass chinscale with the Tscapka. The leather chinscale is less subject to damaged the plate.

in this picture we can see some detail to the plate I will use. the partial cutting between the wings and legs and the tab strengthening the globe
for the pleasure of JR92, the seconde type of consolidated the internal splint :

Now somes pictures before/after :

all seem to be good, but it's forgetted the third stamps :

2 RUR
1889
dammed a second live
, I need of old regiment plate with a reserve kreuz !!!!!
the story of ths Tschapka :
