Adler's Collection

Thank you very much gentlemen!

Ed, I do have a better set, but it's on another mannequin...
Chris, I do have a few Krätzchen and about 5 Schirmmütze, but I didn't take pictures of everything yet...

Hey Karel,
I see a Prussian Einheits (Universal) EM Feldmütze in there... :love10:
Some collectors refer to it as an M1917; others as an M1916... Which one is it? :-?
I've asked this before; this is quite confusing for me ](*,) :

> Feldgrau mützen + colored central band & piping (e.g. red for infantry & black for artillery) & black visor = M1910
> Feldgrau mützen + colored central band & piping & green visor = M1915
> Feldgrau mützen + permanent feldgrau central bands & colored piping & black visor = M1916 ??? [some collectors/dealers refer to this as M1917]
> Feldgrau mützen + permanent feldgrau central bands & similar feldgrau piping (like Karel's) = M1917 ??? [some collectors/dealers refer to this as M1916...]

You keep impressing me with your collection with every new pic you post =D> Very nice and once again thanks for sharing!

Regards,

Edwin

Jaw dropping impressive ! =D>
Your collection could fill a big book and be useful as a reference for collecting this matter.

Hey Karel,
Dr Frankenstein writing here :D :D :D

Can you maybe post some picts of wax mannequins or heads? Do you maybe own some of them?
I would be curious to see how good they are looking!!

Look at this link, I think you already know it.
This is another Dr Frankenstein, from Holland, who is making amazing silicone heads!!! They are the best and the more realistic on the actual market.....but they have their price: first price: 2000 Euro, and then till 4000....

Enjoy,

Hi Doc,

I have only two of them, but in my humble opinion these look the best for old uniforms... The guys from the Netherlands do also a great job, but they are a bit to expensive when one needs about 10 mannequins...
Here are the two wax guys I have...

They are looking very amazing ! =D>
Especially the Totenkopf Husar is great and has a really realistic face. Wunderbar!!! :bravo:

I agree, it's always good to see your toys over and over again Karel...

I've always wondered though: How do you protect them from dust, moist or dryness, rust, and more importantly the damn moth and silverfish? :guns:

Would the cedar wood you seem to have in your attic be enough to keep those hungry little monsters at bay? What about the rest (dust, moist, dryness, etc.)?

Actually it takes a few days to dust the complete room and what's in it... but that's not so bad at all, then one holds his entire collection in hand again. Even when it seems like working, it's rather enjoyable...
For the rest, it's actually keeping the room in the same condition all year around... that means insulation, but also ventilation and moisture controll... Temperature between 19° and 22°C...

I was in Europe when you posted the photos in July, so this is the first I've seen of you newest! I was lucky to pick up manequins for free from stores that were going out of business. I too enjoy seeing your photos. :)

A while ago I took the mannequin with wax head to display the LHR1 uniform at its best, so I had to reorganize things a bit... I put the Drillichjacke on a buste with a EM belt, Luger holster, lanyard for a Luger, Demag trench knife and camo helmet... Hope you like this display as well gentlemen...

B E A U T I F U L as usual Karel! =D>

Love the vivid colors on that camo Stahlhelm!! :thumb up:

Thank you for your comments!
It seemed that some of the pictures were gone, so I put them back... enjoy...

A lot has happened the last 12 months …

I ran out of space in the bunker and since a few weeks the second room is ready. It’s still a work in progress, but movement is a good sign of life I guess…

Since it’s not so easy to focus only on German Imperial stuff, I started a second branche in my collection. The subject of this is: everything not German Imperial… In the first place I must like the items and also very important: they must be in good to excellent condition. I already managed to get some real nice German WW2 helmets, adrian helmets and some amazing US uniforms and helmets.

Am I getting even more addicted to this stuff?

Here are some pictures of the new part of the bunker, hope you like it!
