I have Mark Kasal's and Don Moore's book. The seller of the helmet on eBay is caging, because he references the book but fails to mentioned this fact:

"The helmet itself was not leather but cloth-covered cork..."

I asked around, and the feeling is that the leather is probably restored. So it is a good example, but heavily, heavily restored.
