Our deal on this uniform went through 2 years ago. I am very happy with it as well! The research proved very interesting.

The original owner of this uniform William Prickett from Wilmington Delaware started his time overseas in 1915 as an ambulance driver with field service section 4 then once the US entered the war in 1917 he transferred to the 6th artillery and from there was assigned to the 1st aero squadron as an aerial observer, on 19 APR 1918 in Montsec France his aircraft crashed or he fell from his aircraft and was wounded I haven't been able to find specifics on the event unfortunately. After his injury he was processed out of the army and returned to his family law business which is still an active firm today. But the style of the tunic with a blanket lining with mounts for an extra collar, 2 overseas stripes, 1 wound stripe all align with his service history and the tailor shop and cost of a uniform being made like this are well within the budget for someone of his background. I haven't had a lot of luck finding details on his service but if there's anyone who is better at research I would greatly appreciate the assistance. As for the current configuration of the uniform I do believe that it was added post war by a collector.
