Another Artillery helmet.

At first glance I thought '....not too bad!' but what do you guys think of this one - 6243135719. Do you think the ball, which is tattier than the rest, is original to the helmet and has the shell been rotated - note the holes straddling the rear spine.
 
Ref the shell where is the fire?

Ref the ball: Obviously original to the helmet dug up with the helmet from the Cambrai site where it was run over by a tank. Helmet has survicved 90 years in the ground with only minor rusting.
 
Hi Joe, ref the shell - middle of the rear spine attachement looks like it has a hex nut holding it and it looks like theres two filled holes in the back of the crown either side of the spine - I think! It's pants I guess.

Mind you - I can only part read his description so.......does he mention the tank? Probably does.
 
Sorry Joe, I was being ironic also. I wouldnt be surprised if that was given as a serious explanation of the condition of an object. Some of the half-assed descriptions that get put out on fleabay makes one cynical.
