Another M15 Wurttemburg enlisted helmet

I have mentioned this before but will do so again for information sake.....mine has a non removable M15 spike top. In other words, it is a grey steel version of the usual M95 brass. This is the only one I have seen of this type. Perhaps others have seen this?

I have seen several spikes like that for sale, also on helmets, but it is a rare variant Brian. They are not often encountered.
There was 1 for sale at French E-bay recently.

That GR 123 piece is in excellent condition ! I notice the difference in colour between visors and shell, is that a lacquered felt shell with leather visors?

I had a Baden helmet with a non-removable steel spike. Bannerman's listed these spikes in their catalog. I think they wanted 25 cents for one. Wife had 5 Uncles and a Grandfather who all served in Württemberg units during WW1

Yes it is indeed a lacquered felt shell.
