The intended impression appears to be to a Württembergesches General à la suite, in which case the cruciform stars should be gilt.

I don't really like the enameled star or its proportions. It might have originated on a cartouche box or be an outright copy.

It just doesn't strike me as the kind of Extra Klaße I would expect to find in a helmet of this rank.

Even if the Haube started out as a Dragoner-Regt. Nr. 26, the spike, scales, and stars are now wrong.

I wouldn't touch it.

I saw, bid and lost on this helmet. When I last saw it it looked to be a Wurt Flügel. without the star. Holes were there but the star had been "ripped" away from thew plate. I talked to some friends who said you would never find a star, so I contacted Kammerbuelle. They did not make a star at that time but were preparing to.
 
One additional observation...the liner is very ordinary "officer style". My generals helme has a better quality liner than this. Brian
