Just saw this one on UK ebay. What do we think, I have only ever had standard O/R's one's in hand so have no experience of this type of helmet. Seems odd to me that the chine scales are of a different colour to the rest of the helmet.

Hello and thank you both for your thoughts. The helmet plate seems to fit well, do you think some aspects of the helmet are original and other bits have been added to replace missing parts?
 
Agreed, chinscales don't match the colour of the wappen. Additionally, anything that originates from the UK is already suspicious to me.

It is the most common of all the officer style helmets. There is bound to be a much better example with no suspicious elements to it come up for sale. So, I would let it pass.

Yes, parts helmet with some original and some repro parts IMHO. It's well worth waiting for a really nice one to come along.
