Anyone else have to do yard work?

I was on duty part of last weekend, but could drive to our holiday home later on, lot of work in the yard overthere also ( had to change the blade of mowing machine) but the tranquility of the place and its scenery is rewarding

I would like to ad something to this tread, our holiday home is located near Maissin in the Ardennes. of course the Ardennes are known for the battle of the bulge, but in the First World War there was als a battle of the Ardennes, known as la bataille des Frontieres in august 1914,
22 August 1914 was the bloodiest day of the whole war for the French with 27000 deaths, and 14000 Germans killed, thus the most deadly day of the First World War (41000 deaths),
Some of those are buried in maissin
I very much like this cemetery because French and German soldiers lie together on one cemetery, it’s beautiful and an ideal resting place when cycling from our home, (race-bikes) , also graves from last days of the war 11 and 12 November 1918. Worth visiting if you are nearby
Most graves are 22 August, but some ulanen died a week earlier as they were much advanced as scouting parties

Wow what a nice place and it looks so peaceful there.

Just finished with the pruning of some of my apple trees, hedges and the roses. It’s getting warmer in Norway and the garden is about to explode in flowers and colors. Hard to emagine that all this was covered with one meter snow a couple of month ago.

The one I live in at the moment( I am working on a other one), is not the house we would have bought if things would have gone as we thought it would.
The suden loss of my wife and our house being sold, in Belgium, made me do things I shouldn't had...
But what is done is done and I am dealing with it.
This pictures only shows the front, there is a fourth building at the end of the land and that is where I live now.
That is how I get my (more thn!)5000 steps a day....
Two first pictures shows building along the street, one is partialy a house, but is not on th pic.
The third pis is a building in the garden.
The house in the back comes up later.

Here is the main the house, and a pic of the rear side of the small house along the street. Used to stock piles of things, as you can see on the second pic, still working on my moving....
And transfering the Méhari to a safer place, they got stolen a lot....

I love the Mehari. I've never seen one before.

Beautiful Thomas

Large property and nice view… Im sure you have tons of room for collection

my beloved parents are 80 and 78… my dad is the ultimate do it yourselfer…
He built his own home, did his own yard, sprinklers, fences, shop, greenhouse, fountains, blah blah, blah.
I can't compare to what my dad has and he was in the yard when I stopped by yesterday to visit.
