Artificially aged?

Perhaps I am wrong but this helmet looks artificially aged to me. I once owned a haube that looked almost identical to this one, which turned out to be a fake that was treated with chemicals to make it look older.

Looks like some one hit it with projectile mud!! That spike looks crazy fake, the wappen is way oversized for the helmet and the stitching is completely redone. Avoid this at all cost!!!
 
Im not even sure if that stitching has been redone!! It looks like a poor repro to me. Defo one for the bin and not a puppy on a train track :thumbsdown:
