Is this helmet correct?
Do they really have bayonet fittings on the top?

Hi Ant,
All M1915 helmets had a bayonet fitting for the Kugle or Spitz, so they could be removed in the field, I believe that this is a nice example of the war time Kuglehelm, Rod currently has high bid on it, but I suspect that the price will much more than double before it ends.

Love to see the mark. If this is correct it is as Tony inferred.....not an arty helmet. Before this forum depot mark mismatches were common. Today we all look for matches in stride. We have come a long way pilgrim.
 
Hi all,
After reading the discription (duh) I agree with everyone, and I think Mikey hit the nail opn the head, isn't there a bunch of FAR 44 helemts floating around with a Spitz rather than a Kugle? Here would be a good chance to fix two helmets.
