auction Hermann Historica GmbH

Will Hermann-Historica use the correct codes and descriptions when shipping to the USA or Canada?

They did on my last shipment here but I have a private broker do the transaction with Canada customs.

This one I have shipped to my son in Belgium which arrived yesterday and I’ll be there on Friday so I thought I would just pick it up there to make it easier.

Whoever is brokering the shipment in for you, whether you’re using a private broker or relying on the courier service to broker it, the broker can always put the correct code in at your request prior to it going through for customs clearance.

How much do private brokerage fees cost?

My broker is not expensive, offhand I don’t recall but they take the worry right out of the equation. Your paying FedEx or DHL or whomever to broker items in but they are much more difficult to work with and your always talking to a different person each time. So it’s a little more but I’d rather pay a bit more and know it’s being done right than having to deal with some random person.

Well, the auction is sometimes a gamble; if you take the exchange rate into account, then the auction fees plus auctioneer's fees and shipping, you end up with a high amount. Sometimes I don't understand who buys pieces that make me think, "Wow," and then sometimes pieces that no one bids on, e.g., two sabers from Württemberg for 300 euros. But anyway, I did it and bought these, they need some work; still, it was worth the effort.

So, the post arrived today with this piece. I'm quite satisfied, so I can repair and clean it up a bit and do some research on what could be wrong. I just bought the piece because it wasn't actually much; everything is okay so far, but I'm very suspicious of those things.
