Austrian badge for a tshapska. Original?

Hi there

I recently bought this badge and i wanted to know what do you think of it. As you see from the pictures, the badge has some patina at back, not so much at front, but it has some lines in front (in red) which I was afraid could be casting lines? A collector got the badge in hands and sait it was OK, but still I suspicious. What do U all think?

Ooops I do miss a picture. the badge i speak about is the one with big Nr 3 on chest of the eagle

The eagle looks original to me. It is for a Hussar shako. It is missing the backplate behind the 3. The shako color for k.u.k. Hussar regiment # 3 was white. Hope that helps.

I think you are correct to be suspicious. The front detail is nice but I agree that the lines do indicate that this was cast. The lack of detail on the reverse side also indicate a cast. I'm sorry but I think it is a fake.
