[-( The seller is aware that it's a total fake, but hasn't modified the description so far.
 
I have been doing this for many years and maintain a 100% positive feedback for several thousand transactions but sometimes mistakes are made.

Guess this is just one of those mistakes.
 
He removed the word original and lowered the price, but super antique condition and rare could still lead a poorly informed person to perceive it as an original item.

There has been some discussion as to the authenticity of this style of pickelhaube.
I can make no guarantee as to actual age or use by a particular regiment and it is priced accordingly.
 
Good fellow or not, the helmet is garbage. Does anybody know if the plate is original? The rest of it probably has its origins somewhere in the area of, shall we say, India.... ?

It looks like the double-eagle may be an electroformed copy.

Once the high bidder gets this thing in hand, it'll probably get returned.

The Pickelhaube looks a lot like this style of repro:
