And now an very old friend of mine. It was on of the first austrian piece I have added in my collection many years ago.
Here is a M 1902 austrian feldgendarmerie. The body is realized in pressed cork covered with khaki striped canvas.

Since the chin strap is in one piece, I don't see how it could be used. It don't look like it could that it could go over and back
because of the front visor? Steve

You are right dear Steve, but you should know that the metal chin strap only has an aesthetic function. The real chin strap is made of leather and similarly to tropical helmets it was fixed inside to two metal hooks
