Authentic OR's 1B RIR111 Pickelhaube?

I recently purchased this pickelhaube at my local auction where it was listed 'as-is' without guarantee of authenticity for around 450USD. Despite some red flags, the overall appearance and condition seemed convincing enough to justify taking a chance on it. However, after closer inspection, several issues caught my attention:

• A modern screw replacement on one of the Wappen screw
• White patches inside the helmet potentially indicating mold growth
• Small repairs made to the inner liner
• Shiny leather finish at the Neck Guard Halswache

I can see Barely see the unit marking which is 1B RIR111.
The dimension are W17cm x H22cm x D23.5cm
Could anyone provide some insight into how these potential issues might affect the authenticity or might damages this pickelhaube? I'd appreciate any thoughts or advice you may have

Hi and congratulations to your helmet, it’s not a bad catch for 450$.
The helmet M1895 looks ok for me. But the emblem could have been added later to the helmet, as it should have the M1895 attachment with wire loops and leather wedges and you said it wasn’t attached with squared nuts but modern nuts. Furthermore, you have a wrong cockade. It should be a Baden cockade and an imperial cockade, not a Bavarian.

Thank you for clarifying the meaning of the left-side cockade. I had a tough time identifying its origin. It was a surprise it was a Bavarian cocade.
I'm trying to find some guidance on how to fix/replace the wappen screw since the modern screw welding is getting in the way of fitting in the holes which created a 1 centimeter gap.

You are welcome.
I wouldn't change too much, just drop the wrong cockade or replace it. The helmet will then look very good on your shelf
