What is this?
 
...with what appears to be a visor cap bill stuck on it, a cockade from a 3rd Reich or later Polizei helmet, and... :-k
 
Note: Thanks to the kind help of a knowledgeable eBayer, we can offer a more precise ID of this shako. It is a senior NCO's example, Baden police of the Weimar Period, 1919-1933.

:-k Well, if it is, then who ever designed the front plate needs to go back to tech school... it's butt ugly. I still agree that it came from a dark, cluttered, gothic antique shop... someplace.
