How do sellers expect to reach high figures with such blurred pictures?

These pictures look pretty good on my computer and it seems a fairly decent helmet to me as well :D

Edwin

The first picture is a bit blurry on my computer, the rest look good. I'm not overly crazy on the extra holes behind the wappen though

The wappen looks solid to me but the helmet shell with the extra holes makes it a bogus deal for me. With 5 days to go and at $1,391 you are in my opinion just buying a really expensive 109th wappen. The odd thing I am noticing is that those two middle holes in the leather shell seem to line up exactly to the back of the posts on the house order star. I don't have one of these in my collection so maybe someone who does can comment here with a "compare and contrast" remark.

Good eye. I didn't even notice the spacing of the 2nd set of holes virtually matching the Order Star

I do not like those two small holes, nor the chinstrap.
It looks for me like a M91 pattern helmet (wappen with screwposts and nuts). It was probably later upgraded with a M95 vent rear spine. Cockades seem to be good.
Seller answered me the spike is not screwable, that means Diensthelm, no helmet for parades.
However, I would not spend a lot of money on it. [-(

Here a few picts of my M95 LGR109 for comparison. Note the pressure spots of the stars posts in the leather, but no holes! [-X
As this is my latest find, I will soon present it better and post more picts of it on this forum

Very nice helme Philippe, yours I would buy instantly. The Ebay helme...no way. No markings, extra holes and the spike does not unscrew...no thanks!

Well Brian, extra-holes and no markings are no good signs , I agree. But the fact that the spike does not unscrew could be the possibility this helmet was a "Diensthelm" (helmet for dayly duty).
But OK, the combination of those three facts is dubious...

One thing that I noticed on the Pickelhaube that concerned me right off the back was Spike Base Mounts. They seem to be Brass or Gold colored and not Silver. Any thoughts? I thought that BLG 109 had all Silver parts on it?

One other thing that I noticed was where the extra holes were. It seems like there was possibly a Saxxon Wappen on there before?

We could be overthinking it?

IMO, any helmet--or other headgear for that matter--that raises so many questions isn't worth buying unless its price would be really low to justify the risk...
