Most know I collect these Kinder helmets. I like this one, but I think a little over priced IMO.

Interesting, over the years I have seen many that have a mixture of real parts on them...

I think it was one of those things, you could spend as much as you want, the more realistic, the more expensive.

I knew that someone on this forum collected these Kinderhauben but I just couldn't remember who. That's why I posted it here. It looks like a pretty good original piece. I know nothing about these, so I would have no idea what a reasonable price is.

Sorry James that I forgot it was you who collected these. It's an age thing. I can remember the combination to my high school wall locker but I have trouble remembering what I did yesterday.

There was a nice Uhlan Kinderhelm at the Wisconsin Historical Society. If it wasn't for the wappen, it would have looked just like a small ersatz helmet. I was supposed to catalogue it and it had me scratching my head for a while, as I'd never seen a Kinderhelm before. If I recall it had a silk and oilcloth liner and was lacquered pressed paper or cardboard. The visor was also sewn on Pickelhaube fashion... or was it glued on? :-k That was in 1984, so a while ago.
It was really quite sad. I had to catalogue the whole collection - around 15 helmets - and the old sheets stated that many were 'like new'. Well, they stored them helmet atop helmet (you know, the spike is such a nice anchor!) and many were deformed. I should go back down and see how my conservation / storage technique has worked over he years.
