James....compare also your Baden NCO on the salesman card with the one I show in my first post. Yours has the Prussian hash marked ring while mine is smooth Bavarian style.
Excellent kokarde and helmet Chas, good to have a post from you. Is that kokarde larger than the regular infantry? I have noticed that on some mounted helmets the kokarden are a larger size.

Hallo,
A pair of Baden officer kokarden in the Prussian style:
The "white" metal ring on the Reich kokarde is made of zinc which indicates wartime manufacture. The ring on the Baden kokarde is brass.
The reverse. The Baden on the left has it's proper cardboard backing circle. The Reich on the right never had one which supports simplified wartime manufacture.
Good morning everyone,
But these aren't all cockades from the Grand Duchy of Baden, are they?
The manufacturers also produced for other states in Germany. I have the two-tone cockade (red/gold) on my helmets from the Principality of Lippe (Detmold). In addition, some manufacturers made samples, but they were rejected by the states because they didn't meet their specifications.
Regards
Huebi
