The chinstrap is dyed on the inside which isn't right...
What about those cockades & liner?

The inside of the chin strap looks more dirty, than died. To me, that looks okay. Cockades? I can't comment on them either way without getting a look inside. The liner looks as if it's been saddle soaped, which can be detrimental to the leather. Other than that, it looks like a good helmet; just a bit deformed, but that can be slowly remedied.
I didn't read the description, so I dunno about the markings... looks like a war bond helmet to me.

I believe that this helme is totally original including chin strap and kokarden. The Baden kokarde is the typical brass with the painted red ring. The Reichs is obviously original also. I think that if we could hold this in our hands and look at the markings we would see BAXIV 1916
