‘Bandeau’ Pickelhaube

Having been collecting on and off since I was 14 – buy some, get married and have children, sell them, buy more, lose my job, sell them, etc, etc. I thought in my retirement I’d try and get 2 or 3 nice pickelhaubes that had a ‘theme’.
I decided that German regiments with a connection to England from the Napoleonic wars fighting in the Peninsula and/or Waterloo would be a good option and ‘bandeau’ helmets might be a good starting point as there seem to be so many Brunswick fakes around.
I prefer the look of officer helmets so was wondering if any members have an officer’s helmet or helmet plate of the 73rd, 74th, 77th, 78th, 87th, 88th, 164th or 165th regiments that they’d be willing to sell or exchange?
Many thanks, Jeremy

You have set a very high bar Jeremy. All very difficult to find and expensive. But you have to start somewhere, I'm sure you will find a few with persistence.

Yes, having been collecting off and on since the mid 80's, I don't have one but I do have other cool and rare stuff! Perhaps it's the 2 ex wives and 4 kids which explains my lack of a Bandeau piece? :D

Yes Jeremy, I don’t have the Bandeau Helmets like other members but I do have my children and yes, I do have some bandeau wappen in my collection. So, although the kids are very expensive and can be a great pain in the ass, I think I have managed out ok. Younger collectors have to realize, you have to have some excess income to buy this shit, it is an investment just like stocks. However, unlike stocks, you have control over it....no crazy stock broker, playing the latest scam that can Fk you! Think Historically, always keep that in mind and even in today’s modern age.....all of the billionaires, many of them are collectors and they do see this as an investment that they can look at, handle and have control over. It’s all part of the human comedy. You just have to recognize it my man!

Here is the FR73 officer that I used to own.

Does anyone have a picture of the reverse of an officers ‘bandeau’ wappen showing how they are fixed?
Thanks

That’s great thanks Tony.
