Bavarian Cav. Officer M1915 Pickelhaube?

Why is this one described as a 1910 model when it has all the M1915 wartime features??
Anyway, like many of you, I don't trust this seller and his blurry photos...

Because... the description is wrong? :-k Looks like it's right up your 'war time collection' alley. :) It looks like a nice helmet from what I can see and the patina on the brass (or whatever) vs. gilt is very interesting. Heck, for $5 I might even bid on that puppy.

:D Ron

I didn't look at the seller. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a parts helmet, but everybody can run across something interesting... so... I dunno.

It would be hard to tell with these photos anyway... How hard is it nowadays to take decent photos unless you;re actually trying to hide the details? :-s

Well, he does offer two week inspection, so I guess what I'm saying is that everybody can stumble onto some good things and I'm sure 'uhlan' is no exception. If there was no return policy, it would be a firm [-( , but this could be a :-k , but once it's delivered it could be a \:D/ or [-( [-X :-P :puke:

:D Ron

PS LOL.

You're right Ron, this could be one nice find, but since I can't risk shipping to Lebanon (takes longer than the usual and anything beyond a letter is scrutinized by customs), I can only have my stuff mailed to the North Pole (Montreal) and therefore can't benefit from inspection periods... :(

And for the members from planet Mars, if any, who don't know what 'LOL' stands for: LOL= Laugh out Loud (or 'Lots of Love' if you're from Wisconsin) :P

Lot Nr. 5004?

whoops! sorry my original link doesn't exactly get to the "point".

this is the one...

Lot Nr. 4699

Helm M 1886/16 für einen Reserveoffizier der Kavallerie.

or just click the Bayern link

let me know if you find it. its there just found it again.

OK now I'm all confused: The helmets look identical but they refer to it as an M1886/16...
I thought the removable spike, chinscales & cockades were wartime/m1915 features??? :o
