This guy is one of the few honest sellers on fleaBay (in addition to our guys here of course)!

Even the spike, which seems swallen towards the tip, looks wrong... What did we used to call these, 'pregnant' spikes?

Its not only the spike that looks wrong, but everyting else as well. In contrast to the description of the seller, I am pretty sure that this pregnant spike was made in India (and the rest probably too).

To me, this looks like a German repro. None of the parts are original IMHO, but are of the quality you find in German work. I'll see if I can find the site I think this is from.

Here's the site, but the bottoms of the M15 spikes don't look like the ebay one. could be Prussina Glory or Hessian Militaria?

I agree nothing is original on this one including the spike--at first I thought it might be original until I noticed the 'fetus'--but it's a good repro... one that could've fooled many beginners hence my emphasizing the seller's honesty.
The leather shell especially the inside blows it away however, had I seen this one offered as an original a couple of years back, I would've taken the plunge!
God bless Kaiser Tony who got me here in the first place! Speaking of Tony; where has he disappeared/'departed'? Hope everything's all right?
