Bavarian Mutze

Has anyone ever seen the inside of a Mutze that looks like this?

I've been looking for a Bavarian Mutze to complete a grouping, but I'm thinking this ain't it??

John

To me it looks like an N C O or officer
and maybe the front visor removed or missing ?
One thing for sure it is not a straight issue enlisted mutze

Thanks Tony! That Schirmmutze is probably too good for the grouping I'm trying to complete. Here is an older photo of the set:

It is pictured with an 88 Commission rifle, but I have a GEW98 with "quill-back" bayonet and frog. I still need an original chinstrap (or brass fittings and I'll replace the leather --- sometimes have to do this) and a Mutze.

Would you PM me with the cost --- if you don't want to post it here.

John :)

I am just asking a question for my own information .

John ;
Please tell me know how you can tell
the difference between a Bavarian I R 12
and a Prussian Grenadier Regiment 12 ?

Is yours an issue Waffenrock with Kammer stamps ?

Is the material a lighter blue than the Prussian blue ?

Thanks
Steve

Steve,
Before I joined this forum I didn't research or scrutinize my collection near as much as I do now.
I bought this Tunic, Waffenrock, from a reputable source and he said it was Bavarian.
Since then I have verified that this is Bavarian belonging to the Prinz Arnulf, 12th, Infantry Regiment.
1. The Waffenrock is a lighter blue than the Prussian tunics I have.
2. It is stamped "IR12" on the inside. A Grenadier Regt should be marked "GR12".
3. The 12th Grenadier Regt, Frankfurt/Oder, was part of the III Armee Korps (Prussia). The Bavarian 12th Infantry Regt, Neu-Ulm, was part of the 1st Armee Korps (Bayern). This tunic is stamped with a "BA 1" which is the Bekleidungsamt which served I Armee Korps.

So, if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, it must be a duck.
If I am wrong in my thinking please clear it up for me.
