May be it`s Bavaraian helmet M/1878 for schwerer Reiter (heavy cavallrie). But on front there must be a "L" (for King Ludweig an a Crown) :?

Has received this helmet. Help to identify this frontal plate on four screws. Very much, very strange helmet!
There was no restoration. The original all of 100 %

Stamp inside-

Hi, this is a helmet plate from the Gemeindepolizei Nürnberg, a local police unit. It is documented by Erich Radeke (first part), p. 42. I cannot open the ebay link because it is blocked for my country, but I suppose it is the typical bavarian police helmet with lion heads and smooth spike. The helmet shown by Radeke has chin scales.

Thanks! It is very interesting. I have not understood, And where it is possible to read about such helmets? There is no lateral cockarde. I do not know what it should be.
Once again many thanks.

I just found this picture on http://www.seitengewehr.de/

According to Joes collection of helmet makers, there was a maker stamp "D.M.A.G." this might be it (http://www.pickelhauben.net/articles/Helmet_Makers.htm).

So, did you bid on the helmet? A bit rough in shape, but might restore if done carefully. Looks to need just the front visor trim and cockade?
