Hmmm...enlisted spine with vent, ball and a Bavarian plate, private purchase style liner...maybe a fire helmet?

According to what I could find, Bayern didn't adopt the kugel until war time... I'd say, parts helmet. Looks nice, but no dice.

I think one would need to check the date that Bayern adopted the Kugel, this helmet would have been used during WWI, even after the M1915 would have been issued to ORs.

Look at the Wappen. That is the 1896 Foot-Tropps issued Wappen. Never used by artillery.

I'd say, by comparing it to some of my own, I'd bet it is most probably a very reasonable OYV private purchase helmet with a ball replacing it's missing spike.
