b.loree Administrator Staff member Feb 26, 2025 #2 I am not expert on these but overall, it looks good. The liner is certainly correct.
Tony without Kaiser Departed Staff member Feb 26, 2025 #3 That is a very good M1889 Metalhelm. Made from an 1854? It still has the rib on the back of the skull. I would throw my money at that seller.

CLOVIS 57 Well-known member Feb 26, 2025 #4 Yes, M1867 helmet, given the half-spherical shape of the shell, and the presence of the rear spine rib, with modification of the M1889 visor, and the M1894 modification of the side-post chinstrap attachments. Nothing abnormal to report.

Spiker Well-known member Feb 27, 2025 #5 I can’t tell if it is real or fake , metal helmets are the most risky ones to buy. There are some good metalworkers out there. It would help to see the spike and the eagle removed. The liner looks suspicious. This is a fake, (as stated by the auction house) the liner is always the giveaway.
