hello,
I was lucky (...) lately in the recovery of my collection.

I found a jacket officers of the "Force Publique" with traces of "chevrons front" that have been removed.

I went to Ciney this weekend, and I found a backpack mills 15 backpack 1916 model, both used by the FP 15-18 and the book "The German colonial troops"

Service stripes are hard to find, and I have only seen OR's stripes, I have a block of 8.

Hello ,
thank you for your compliments!

I don't try to hand over the "Chevrons".

But the 1915-1920 rafters are different from those purls (Cannetilles in french?) in 20's and 30's.
Finally, in the case of this jacket, which are bands of chevrons and not a block unfortunately. What is even more difficult to find (especially NCO's)

Best regards

Mick

When you look at the tunic, you can see that it had the maximum of 8 stripes, and that they were affixed at different times, with the first 4 being put on at one time and tall applied individually. A very nice tunic.

Hello,

I 'm not going to look the "chevrons". There to be had on ebay.be last week, but I passed on that purchase.

Belgian officers from in Europe wearing this uniform from 1915. However, given the very different climate between Belgium on the Yser and the Congo on the border of Tanganyika lake, you can see that within the tunic is not doubled on its upper part .

The fabric is a cotton whipcord not made of wool , as it is focused on the Yser ; this is a summer canvas .

The tunic has been repaired many recovery as you can see ( and it should be again, several pieces are fragile ).
