Yesterday I recieved a nice helmet in the mail, wich I had been searching for for a long time to find one that wasn't messed with.

It's maker marked Compagnie Coloniale, and arrived here at Armistice Day, perfect!
Greeting's and a fine weekend to you all! :D

Thanks for the nice reply's gentlemen!
@ John, it was used it has a few small dents, wich don't bother me, and the liner has some sweat marks on it, and one of the thongs of the liner is a bit loose, stitching,so was used but not much I think.

Great helmet!!! If anybody is in the market of these, make sure the lion doesn't have ears, because the lions with ears are from the 1920's.

When i started collecting back in the 1990's, you could find these on markets for 500 Belgian francs (€12.50) or less. Luckely i bought quite a few of these because nowadays untouched exemples are becoming harder to find at a decent price.

Greetings

I have only seen photos of these. Is the lion stamped into the helmet?

It is attached to the helmet with 2 metal prongs wich are bent over, just like the French Adrians. But it is so thin, and mounted flush, it looks like stamped.

Also thanks for placing the tip about the lions ears Pickelhaube, I already knew that but it is of great help to other people interested in these helmets. :thumb up:
