Belgian infanterie transitional helmet.

Here is probably a quiet exotic item to the forum.
It is the die of the crest that came on top of a rather particular transitional Belgian helmet!
The second picture shows a model of the crest i made in poleyster.
Last picture isn't mine, it is a copy of post card showing a soldier in that particular uniform and wearing the helmet.
I never saw one for sale! They are rare!
I have got both parts.
I got them when I cleared a building in wich Indian Caps (a medal, insigna and uniform maker in Antwerp)was located.

Great find ! Probably the only one left (...or even...ever made...)
Scarce like hen's teeth. Same for the helmet in the picture.
What material is the die made of ?
Francis

Hey Francis,
it must be the only one ever made.
Originaly proprety of De Rooster Brussels. And went over to Fonson first and then to IC when they stopped and sold every thing.
It is made out of a massive iron bloc, that was conceved in different layers, going from less hard metal up to hardened metal at the top.
Each part weights over 60 kilo's.
You can also find it in thise old original commercial "flyer" of Elimex/De Rooster that came along with the die.
Cheers
